Numbrate Legal Information and Terms of Use

Welcome to Numbrate.com ("Numbrate," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our Website, APIs, tools, calculators, the NUM2TEXT Google Sheets™ Add-on, the CellEncrypt Google Sheets™ Add-on, the CellArchiver Google Sheets™ Add-on, the Storywords Google Chrome™ Add-on, the Storywords web application at storywords.numbrate.com, or any of our other products (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use our Services. We may modify these Terms at any time by posting updates. Continued use indicates acceptance.

1. Access and Use of Services

Numbrate may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We are not responsible for any downtime, unavailability, or loss that results from service interruptions.

You are responsible for ensuring that your device, browser, network, and permissions (including microphone permissions where applicable) are properly configured to use our Services.

All content, including text, graphics, games, audio interactions, code, Widgets, and Add-ons, is owned by Numbrate or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use the Services for personal, non-commercial use only. Educational use is allowed with attribution to Numbrate.com.

2. NUM2TEXT Google Sheets™ Add-on

The NUM2TEXT Add-on converts numbers into words inside Google Sheets. The Add-on processes only the data you select. No spreadsheet content is stored, transmitted outside Google systems, or shared.

3. CellEncrypt Google Sheets™ Add-on

The CellEncrypt Add-on provides password-based encryption for spreadsheet cells. Encryption occurs locally inside Google Sheets using Google Apps Script. No passwords are stored permanently, and lost passwords cannot be recovered.

CellEncrypt protects cell content from viewers only. Editors can access version history containing unencrypted data. Use editor permissions responsibly.

Storage Limits and Accounts

Free account: 5 KB encrypted storage
Paid account: 500 KB encrypted storage
Email may be transmitted solely to verify account status

4. CellArchiver Google Sheets™ Add-on

4.1 Overview

The CellArchiver Add-on automatically copies cell values to a history sheet at scheduled intervals. All processing occurs locally within your Google Sheets environment using Google Apps Script.

4.2 License and Trial

90-Day Free Trial: Full functionality is available for 90 days from installation.
License Requirement: After the trial period, a valid license key is required to continue using CellArchiver.
License Keys: License keys are email-specific and cannot be transferred between users.
License Validation: Your email address is used solely to validate license eligibility.

4.3 Data Processing

CellArchiver copies only cell VALUES (not formulas) from specified source cells to target columns in a history sheet.
All data processing occurs within your Google Sheets document.
No spreadsheet data is transmitted to Numbrate servers.
Configuration settings are stored locally in Script Properties.

4.4 Automated Scheduling

You may configure time-based triggers to automate data archiving.
Triggers are created using Google Apps Script's built-in time-based trigger system.
You are responsible for managing and monitoring your automated schedules.

4.5 User Responsibilities

Managing your license key and ensuring it remains valid.
Configuring appropriate source cells, target columns, and schedules.
Monitoring storage usage in your target history sheet.
Understanding that archived data remains accessible in spreadsheet version history.
Ensuring proper spreadsheet permissions to prevent unauthorized access to archived data.

4.6 Restrictions

You may not:

Share, transfer, or resell license keys.
Modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the CellArchiver Add-on.
Use CellArchiver in violation of Google's Terms of Service.
Attempt to bypass license validation or trial limitations.

Important: Lost license keys cannot be recovered. Keep your license key in a safe place. Archived data in version history may be accessible to spreadsheet editors.

5. Storywords Google Chrome™ Add-on & Storywords Web App

5.1 Overview

Storywords is an interactive storytelling game available as a Google Chrome™ Add-on and as a web application at storywords.numbrate.com. Some gameplay modes allow users to provide story input using voice through speech-to-text.

5.2 Microphone Access

Microphone access is requested only when you choose to play a voice-based game mode.
You may deny microphone access and continue using non-voice features.

5.3 Audio Processing and Speech Recognition

Audio is processed locally through your browser using the Chrome Web Speech API or equivalent browser speech recognition.
No audio recordings are stored, transmitted, or shared with Numbrate.
Only the text output of the speech recognition is used for gameplay.

5.4 User Responsibilities

You must ensure that you have permission to use the microphone on your device.
You are responsible for ensuring your spoken input complies with applicable laws and is safe for all ages (if children are present).
You must not provide illegal, hateful, or harmful content through voice or text.

5.5 Restrictions

You may not:

Modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Storywords Add-on or Web App.
Use Storywords to transmit harmful, abusive, or unlawful audio or text.
Use Storywords for commercial hosting or in any automated system.

5.6 Service Availability

Storywords relies on browser-provided speech-to-text, which may vary depending on browser compatibility, microphone quality, or internet connection. We do not guarantee speech recognition accuracy or availability.

Storywords does not record or store audio.
By using Storywords, you acknowledge that all speech processing is handled by your browser and not by Numbrate.

6. Widget License

We grant a limited, revocable license to embed Numbrate Widgets with attribution. You may not modify, monetize, or remove attribution from Widgets.

7. Advertisers

Any interactions with third-party advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

8. Disclaimers and Liability

The Services are provided "as is." We make no warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Numbrate is not liable for:

Data loss or corruption
Inaccurate speech recognition, transcription errors, or gameplay results
Issues resulting from microphone failures or browser limitations
Lost passwords in CellEncrypt
Lost license keys in CellArchiver
Missed or incorrect data archiving in CellArchiver
Unauthorized access through spreadsheet version history
Service outages or modifications
Expiration of trial periods or licenses

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Numbrate from claims arising from your use of the Website, APIs, Add-ons, Storywords, Widgets, or violations of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. All disputes must be brought in Swiss courts.

11. Arbitration

We may require disputes to be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Swiss arbitration rules.

12. Waiver and Severability

If one part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the full agreement between you and Numbrate.
